This hotel is nice, the staff are helpful and the place is clean with modern style rooms. It is in a very convenient location and is fabulous for the xmas lights which are all across the city - lots of nice restaurants around. I would say …
Excellent modern designed hotel with outstanding views across Funchal. Great choice to suit all tastes for breakfast. |Room was spacious although having both the toilet and separate shower screened off by smoked glass that was not floor to …
This is my 3rd trip to Funchal. I normally stay at the Savoy Palace or next savoy, but for my next visit, I decided to stay at The Vine Hotel for 3 nights to be closer to the town for the Christmas markets. The rooftop area is lovely, and …
Our first visit to Madeira and would highly recommend the hotel. From first arrival to leaving we found the staff so friendly and helpful with nothing being too much trouble. The selection of food at breakfast was exemplary and we also sampled the cocktails and light bite menu at the bar. The location of the hotel is fantastic with everywhere in Funchal being easily accessible. Highly recommended.
This is a nice hotel, which is part of a complex with apartments and a shopping centre. We only spent 1 night here before our flight.
Arrival: Upon arrival at the parking lot, it was nice to be greeted by a hotel employee who escorted us to the front desk. The walk from the car park was quite complicated so we welcomed that. Too bad he didn't offer to take my wife's bag, so I was carrying two. However, we were greeted at reception by a very nice receptionist who was very pleasant and acted professionally. We were escorted to our room by the porter who had already offered to take our luggage.
Room: The room was spacious, relatively clean and everything was ok, but it was quite dark and also time had already taken its toll. Not everything in the room worked great though, especially the light switches, some of the ceiling elements were dirty and "broken" etc. I was struck by the fact that the minibar was empty even though we presented a credit card.
Hotel facilities: The hallways were clean, cozy but too dark for my taste (but that's a matter of taste). There was a complimentary water dispenser in the hallway which was great. The lobby and restaurant are nice with modern touches. The rooftop terrace is awesome and you can enjoy the super view of the city with a drink or take a dip in the pool. That was great.
Wellness: There is a jacuzzi, Turkish bath and relaxation room - free of charge. There is also free water. Even so, it was a disappointing visit for me. The water in the jacuzzi was cold and the Turkish bath was downright cold. Unfortunately there was no staff present to assist me. In addition, it was evident throughout the area that its best years were behind it.
Breakfast: Not great, not terrible. Compared to 5* hotels, it was rather disappointing in terms of the offer. But nothing was downright bad. On the contrary, I appreciated the friendly and helpful staff.
Location: the location of the hotel is very good and you are right in the city centre. The already mentioned underground garages are great. There is also a business center in the complex which can be reached by elevator.
Summary: The hotel has seen its best years and honestly probably won't impress you. On the other hand, I have to commend the friendly staff and the location.
While I agree with many reviews about the location being excellent, I take issue with our hotel room. It looked nice, but was not functional and at times problematic. View the pictures carefully; I didn't understand the open bathroom …
Absolutely amazing hotel! A haven of total|Peace and tranquility amongst the hustle and bustle of Funchal. Fantastic location. Amazing staff who cannot do enough for you. Breakfast choice amazing - really comfy beds and pillows - …
Great hotel! Perfect location in central Funchal (actually located above a shopping mall, great when your baggage is delayed;))
Very stylish and high tech hotel, it took
a few minutes to figure out how lights etc works in the room. (There’s for example a light underneath the bed that goes on when you get up at night, quite annoying but just ask the staff and they can turn it off for you).
Nice, clean and spacious rooms, but big minus for glass doors to the bathroom! (Privacy please!) We also missed bedside tables, instead there’s a closet on either side of the bed.
Very friendly and helpful service, great pool & bar area and great breakfast.
A very good hotel for a visit to Funchal!
